Signing Out Of Windows 10

Last Updated: Jan 19, 2018 03:01PM EST

When you are finished using a Windows 10 classroom computer, please Sign Out of your account rather than shutting down the computer.

Shutting down a shared classroom computer between classes will cause the next faculty member who teaches using that computer a delay in teaching his or her class waiting for the computer to restart. Signing out is the safest way to protect your data, and keep the computer operating for the next individual to use it.

Below is a step-by-step guide for signing out of your account on Windows 10. There are several methods that can be used to accomplish this. Please ensure that all your work is saved before signing out!

----Method A----

1. Click the Windows Start button, typically located in the bottom left hand corner of your screen
2. Click the Profile Icon (Grey Button looks like a person inside of a circle).
3. Click Sign Out
4. Walk away from the Computer and enjoy the rest of your day.

----Method B----

1. Right Click on the Windows Start Button, typically located in the bottom left hand corner of your screen.
2. Hover your mouse over the "Shut Down or Sign Out" option in the Pop-Out Menu
3. Select "Sign Out" from the option in the next level menu.
4. Walk away from the Computer and enjoy the rest of your day.

----Method C----

1. Press the Control+Alt+Delete on your keyboard
2. On the Screen that Appears, Select "Sign Out" from the list of options
3. Walk away from the Computer and enjoy the rest of your day.
